As a dedicated learner, I am committed to and very serious about my role as a teacher. I love my job but it often drives me crazy. My intention with this blog is to give people access to the world inhabited by teachers and their students, to vent my many frustrations and furies, and to give everyone with an interest in education an idea of what is really going on in our schools.

1 teacher; 4 days; 36 hours; 14 lessons; 133 students; 0 meetings; 1 subject, 0 fights; 9 detentions; 1 piece of decent gossip.
And I was told off for doing too much marking. I quite like my school.
Phil H- I'm sure you do, especialy when you compare it with mine! I am speechless with jealousy at your low number of days, hours, subjects, meetings, lessons! and fights. Any vacancies?
Ah, but I'm supply, so I get fairly poor pay and no pension. But it is nice getting Tuesday or Wednesday off every week. And I get to stay until July.
Which is good because I like it there. Even if it is a 1h40 commute each way.
All this reminds me I should have a look on TES for part time jobs from September.
2 teacher, 5 days, 46 hours, 18 lessons, 3 quizzes (175 students), 1 test (25 students), lost 6 students so have 102, 2 meetings, 25 write ups (have no idea how many detentions but the kids are out for a while so I can teach the rest), 1 stupid co-teacher with no manners, 0 fights, no decent gossip.
Wow - that just makes me tired! :)
1 teacher, 3 full days, 2 half days, 24 teaching hours, 17 lessons, 3 frees, 5 schools, 400+ students, 0 meetings, 0 marking, 0 lesson planning, 9 subjects, 3 fights.
With all the snow we've gotten this week, my tally is different from the rest of you: 1 teacher, four day weekend: 1 tax return completed, 1 house cleaned, 2 new classes prepped for, 1 window shopping, 15 cups of coffee consumed, 1 batch cookies baked, 1 trip to the coffee shop, 1 party, 1 dinner out.
Phillie- A massively better week than me and everybody else, you lucky thing. I didn't count cups of coffee because I always lose count.
You forgot the 6 hours of meaningless boxticking admin!
1 teacher; 5 days; 37 hours; 16 lessons; 137 students; 2 meetings; 3 subjects; 8 year groups; 1 raised voice; 1 child kept in for lunch; 1 child sent to my class for discipline; 1 child sent to another class from mine for discipline; 6 days above 110 degrees F in a row; 3 day weekend to back it up; 0 gossip
Alycia- Only 16 lessons. Why so few?
