As I have mentioned several times on this blog, I get irked by the people who misunderstand and disrespect the teaching profession. This is particularly annoying when the comments are based on misconceptions.
Pete is an example of this. He left one comment on the post Paper chase and two extremely rude comments on Peter Pan Week. For reasons unknown to me, he seems to have a strong dislike for teachers and he puts this opinion across by calling me a "fucking gormless, Graduate Failure, faggot." He then makes an unfounded challenge of my qualifications.
I was offended and angered by this, at first, but then I realised that Pete is nothing more than an ignorant, offensive moron. In short, he is a bit of a dickhead. I am sure that his comments would have had more of an impact if he had avoided homophobic content and had managed to spell the words correctly. For example, he tries to attack my education while using the word "dgeree."
Pete, if you insist on commenting on what I write here (thanks for being a regular reader, by the way), then I must insist that you get some manners and learn how to spell properly. Is that ok? Have I put that in easy language that you are able to access?

IF somebody offers the opportunity for debate you get to challenge your own ideas and opinions as well as theirs. Great.
A mindless troll however adds nothing, expect an opportunity to feed their own ego. I prefer to starve the buggers to death with the "delete comment" button.
I don't get why words like that would have gotten to you WITHOUT the gay insults, but don't bother you so much WITH them?
The whole thing sounds like the fella runs about blogs, poops his little vitriol, and moves on to the next victim.

Love this post. And I kinda love Pete too. It's readers like Pete that get us bloggers all fired up, which makes us we rally the troops & shout out our support to one another.

I don't get to visit here much as I now teach in South Korea where I can hit kids - the problem is compared to the British scum I had to teach and who ruined most lesson for the decent kids, they are adorable.
I have almost regained my sanity after being raped and abused by the British education system.
